Merry Christmas!!! (Lola and Diesel)

Merry Christmas one and all! Santa was very good to us, even though we thought for sure that we'd be on the Naughty List (or at least Diesel would!). Our favorite toy that we each got is the "tug-a-jug" that have treats hidden inside that rattle and we have to figure out how to get them out- they're really fun! We had a wonderful family Christmas, although we spent them at different houses so it would be a little "calmer" and more safe for our great grandparents. Here are a few photos of Honey's house on Christmas Eve- one of me and Mommy:
A little fam photo in which I look like a fat snowman (dog):
Here I am posing in front of all the presents under the tree:
Aunt Emma on Christmas morning at Grandma and Grumps' house. Because of last weekend's snow, it was a white Christmas!:
Mommy painted a picture of Emma for grandma for Christmas- it looks just like her!
I scope out the gifts under the tree on Christmas morning:
Grandma got this bulldog statue for Mommy. Here I am sniffing his butt the way I would to other dogs when I first meet them. When Lola met him later on at home, she growled at him:
Dancing to Grandma's new Jersey Boys soundtrack (well, she was dancing, I was biting):

Hope everyone had a peaceful and joyous holiday!

Winter Wonderland (Lola)

We've had a little "cabin fever" with this snowstorm this weekend- we've been trapped inside and even though Dad shoveled us a little area to potty in, we needed to get out and about today. Mom and Dad took us for a walk up the street and here are some photos from the walk. Not everyone shoveled their part of the sidewalk, so we had to go in the tire tracks left by the cars brave enough to drive through this mess!:
Look at how far up the snow comes on us!:
After our walk, I attempted to go in the top of the backyard but the snow is a little too deep for me to get very far!

Blizzard!! (Lola)

Perhaps you remember my post from earlier this month where I described my love of the fluffy white stuff? Well we woke up this morning to nearly six inches of snow and it hasn't stopped since! The weather man is calling for 20-30 inches by the time it's all over... Here are a few pictures from today but I have a feeling we'll get some good ones tomorrow when the sun comes out and it's no longer windy.
Diesel decides if he wants to go out- the snow is piled up at the front door:
Here we are supervising Dad as he shovels the sidewalk and measures the depth of the snow- 14 inches at 4:00 today!
Here's Deisel running down the back steps after doing his business out back- you can't even see the stairs!
I ran down the shoveled path and steps to the bottom of the front hill. Normally when I come back up the hill, I like to run up the hill, rather than the steps. This photo is of me running headlong into the snow bank on the hill. What, you can't see me?? That's because I was COVERED completely by the snow! Mom and Dad found this hysterical:

Look at where the snow comes up to on us as we stand on the shoveled sidewalk- I can't wait to run through this tomorrow!

Million Dollar Baby (Diesel)

I haven't had the chance to blog about this yet, as I was quite under the weather this week. That's because last Thursday night (really it was VERY early Friday morning), I started throwing up some sticks and kept throwing up for several hours. Eventually there was blood in it and I was really shaky so I ended up spending the day at the vet... A Barium series, ten x-rays and $560 later, I was home with three antibiotics and a diagnosis of pneumonia. I coughed for several days and was very pathetic, but I had a follow up exam yesterday and am back to my old charming self!

Additionally, I have a "prolapsed urethra." We won't post a photo of that here since it has to do with a very private part of mine (feel free to Google it!), but it's quite common in young male bulldogs. When my pneumonia is way behind me, I will have to have it surgically corrected...

Meanwhile, while looking at the x-rays from last week, the vet discovered that I have half of a vertebrae in the lumbar area of my spine- like half of it is missing. What the heck!? They said it may never be an issue, but that it's really weird.

Mom is now calling me her "Million Dollar Baby" and is looking into some pet insurance...

Bulldog Property Laws (Lola)

Mom just got us some nifty new treats- some nifty dental bones with all these fabulous little nubby things on them. She got one for each of us, but Diesel likes to taunt me with his or try to take mine. Let me clarify the rules of our house for him:

1. If I like it, it's mine.
2. If it's in my mouth, it's mine.
3. If I can take it from you, it's mine.
4. If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
5. If I gave it away and now I want it back, it's mine.
6. If I chewed it into a hundred pieces, all the pieces are mine.
7. If it just looks like mine, it's mine.
8. If I saw it first, it's mine.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
10. If it's broken or boring, it's yours.

All I Want for Christmas (Diesel)

This guy looks like he's having a TON of fun!!! I wonder if Santa would bring us a trampoline for Christmas??? Mom seems to think I may have made the "naughty list" this year so my chances are looking a little grim...

Like Father Like Son... (Diesel)

Grandma sent these two pictures from Thanksgiving. Daddy got up at 3:30am to go hunting with Grumps so he was pretty sleepy when he got home and he took a nap- so I did too! Look... we're both wearing camo!!

Let It Snow! (Lola)

We woke up this morning to the first snow of the year and although it's not sticking to the ground in the city where we live, there are still lots of puffy white flakes falling from the sky! I LOVE SNOW-It is one of my most favorite things to do to run around in the snowy yard in circles at high speeds! Since the snow today won't give me the chance to do so, I thought I'd post a few pics from last winter since we weren't blogging back then... Baby Diesel was only a little over 3 months old in these pictures and we'd only had him for 2-3 weeks!
