Do Underbites Bite? (Lola)

CONS of having an underbite:
1. We can't pick a Frisbee up off the ground
2. Eating can be a challenge sometimes since our teeth don't touch in the front
3. We're sometimes mistaken as being mean or grumpy
4. When Mom sticks her finger in our mouths, we can't bite it! She finds this funny...
5. Often when we sleep, our tongues stick out since they go under the top teeth and over the bottom... When we wake up, our tongues are all dried out

PROS of having an underbite:
1. In the show ring, many judges will dismiss a bulldog lacking an underbite since it's an important characteristic of our breed
2. Our underbites make us look dead sexy- don't you agree??:

The Day We Came Home (Diesel)

Lately Mom has been getting sentimental about how fast we're growing up... Lola is slowing down and becoming the more "typical" bulldog (a grumpy, lazy couch potato) and I already weigh as much as Lola and I'm only 8 months old! Here are pictures Mom found from the day we each came home- aren't we CUTE and LITTLE?!?!?

Here's Lola watching Daddy order lunch on the day she came home- May 27, 2006. They drove over three hours to pick her up and then turned right around and drove her home, so they were hungry! I barely recognize her- I can't believe she was ever this small!:
Here's a picture of me checking out my new digs when I arrived home- December 26, 2008:
Look at me and Lola next to one another on the day I came home (I look like the grumpy one is this picture)!:

Bullfrogs??? (Diesel)

Mom and Dad keep on calling Lola and I "bullfrogs" instead of bulldogs... I don't get it!

Ohhhhhhhh, now I see!

Happy Memorial Day! (Lola & Diesel)

This afternoon Mom took us to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a picnic! Our favorite canine cousin Emma (a boxer) was there of course, as well as Aunt Becky's bff's dog Sam (a cocker spaniel). It was CRAZY! Here we are jumping up like maniacs when we first arrived:
Sam wasn't too sure about the way we all play (growling and wrestling), so he spent most of the time on his mom's lap growling at us, but he looks pretty handsome in this picture nontheless:
Aunt Becky eats some strawberry shortcake which Lola, Emma and Sam beg for... Meanwhile Diesel begs to come outside from his "time out" to have some too:
Emma is pooped!:
Mom took this picture of us sleeping in the back seat on the car ride home (with her phone camera, which is why it's so grainy). You may think this is no cause for photos, but if you know how we normally behave in the car, I'm sure you're pretty shocked to see this too!:

Freedom With Fencing (Lola)

For a long time, Mom and Dad let me outside without a leash to go potty or play in the backyard. Occasionally, I'd run down the front hill if I saw another dog or an interesting person walking by, but it was no big deal... I NEVER went in the street. But once Diesel got braver, he'd take off left and right, and we only got to go out on leashes (lame). Then, about a month ago, our dog walker came to play with us during the day with our friend Crumble (a boxer) and she let us out to play leash-free. Suddenly, Crumble bolted from the yard and I followed- we streaked down the hill, up the street and into someone's yard where I "allegedly" jumped on a 2 year old and scratched his face. I plead not guiltly, but the next week, this is what showed up in our yard:
At first, I was NOT happy, but now I've come to realize that this fence has given me back some freedom! Look at all this space I get to play in!:
These are the weeds I used to go through to sneak into our neighbors yard to snoop around and poo (the grass is always greener...) Can you see the fence blocking me out?!:

Play Date with Haley! (Lola)

Mom's friend Lacy came over with her baby Haley, a Wheaton Terrier, for a play date tonight! It was super fun, but Haley is really FAST... Diesel tried to keep up and he did a pretty good job, but now he's POOPED and we both haven't stopped panting!
Slowing down...
About 25 seconds after Haley left:

We hope Haley comes back to play with us again soon!

Happy Mother's Day! (Lola & Diesel)

We love you Mommy! Thanks for taking such good care of us!
We tried taking a family photo at brunch this morning, but we both get distracted pretty easily!

And Then There Was None... (Lola)

On Friday morning, Diesel left the house with Mom and he didn't come back until the next day (it was pretty relaxing). Something's different about him... He's been a little more calm and I haven't been humped all weekend... Something's missing...

Happy Cinco de Mayo! (Diesel)

There's always an old blanket or two in my crate which is nice and snuggly during the day. But, once I get let out, my newest obsession is pulling the blanket out and trying to rip it up and playing tug of war with it and Lola. Here we are this evening doing just that, and appropriately, it's Mom's old blanket from Mexico... Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Meeting my Cousins! (Diesel)

Two weeks ago, Uncle Adam and Aunt Amanda came over with my cousins, Autumn and Avery, who I'd never met before. Lola warned me about them beforehand- she's afraid of kids, but I wasn't too worried, cause she's pretty much afraid of everything! Avery just layed there in her carseat cause she's just a little baby, but Autumn LOVES dogs and I LOVE AUTUMN! We both squealed when we saw each other and I hope I get to see her again soon!

(Mommy loves Autumn too!)
